INCUBATOR HIRE

 

 

Ever wanted to hatch your own chicks?  We can hire you everything you need to get started.  

Hen chicks take 21 days to hatch, you could choose the day of hatching to coincide with a special event such as a birthday or other special event.

Our incubators are one of the easiest on the market to use. We have R-com 20's - very modern, fully automatic - simply turn on, put your eggs in and then top up with water every few days.  They have excellent visibility so you can see exactly whats going on at every stage.  They can hold up to 20 eggs.

If you require a larger incubator we also have a Brinsea that will hold up to 48 eggs. 

 

   

 If you don't have your own fertile eggs, we can either supply you with eggs from our rare breed hens when available, which start from £1 each.

If you simply want to experience the whole hatching process, without keeping the birds, we will happily have the chicks back after (but would need them back within 2 weeks of hatching).

Incubator hire is for 30 days unless otherwise agreed.  Hen chicks will take 21 to hatch, you will need the incubator for a couple of days beforehand to set it up and get it up to temperature.  When the chicks hatch on day 21 they will then need to be left in the incubator for approximately 24 hours to allow them to dry out and fluff up properly.   

 

 

We will supply all the basic instructions and any support and advice needed!

Depending on the time of year, your chicks will need extra heat for up to 6 weeks of age - we can hire you heat lamps and all the other brooding equipment you might need.

INCUBATOR PACKAGE  

* Hire of R-com 20 fully automatic incubator for 30 days (longer hire can be arranged if you would like to hatch ducks or geese)

* Hire of Brinsea candling lamp (to check if your eggs are developing)

* Instruction leaflet/incubation book

* Support and advice as needed! (Fertile eggs available from £1 each).


 £50 for 30 days.(£200 deposit required, returnable upon return of working incubator)


 Please note that there will always be eggs that do not develop which can be disappointing, it is highly unlikely that if you buy 6 eggs from any source that you will have 6 chicks - an 80% hatch rate would be very good (it may well be a lot less),  so remember when deciding how many eggs to buy that not all of them will hatch.

 

BROODER PACKAGE 

* Wire topped, secure brooder cage 

* Hire of heat lamp and red heat bulb

 * Hire of chick feeder and chick water fountain  

£40 for 5 weeks hire.(£25 deposit required)


 

Due to the large size and fragility of incubators, they are only available for collection from us.
